Vino Vero, Graça – Lisbon Wine Bar Review

Tucked away down one of Graça’s small side streets, Vino Vero feels more like discovering a local secret than finding a wine bar. I recently met a new friend who works as cabin crew for TAP Air Portugal, and during one of our conversations we got onto the subject of wine. He recommended Vino Vero, so whilst I was already exploring Graça, I decided to stop by and try it for myself. With outdoor seating spilling into the alleyway and an interior that feels more like a stylish wine merchant than a traditional bar, it immediately stood out from a lot of the more touristy places elsewhere in Lisbon.

The staff were excellent as well. After asking what styles of wine I usually enjoy, I was offered a couple of tastings before choosing a Portuguese red from Lisbon, Vale da Capucha. The wine was excellent and exactly the sort of place you want to sit and slow down for an hour or two. I hadn’t realised they also served food until I noticed dishes heading out to nearby tables, although I arrived fairly early in the evening. I’ll definitely be returning over the next few weeks to properly try the food menu as well.

Who’s Vino Vero for? Anyone who loves wine and nice surroundings looking for a beautifully presented wine bar after or before visiting Miradouro da Senhora do Monte, which is less than a five-minute walk away. It’s relaxed, stylish without trying too hard and feels far more local than many of the busier wine bars in central Lisbon.
