Best Photo Spots in Lisbon

Best Photo Spots in Lisbon (2026 Guide)

Lisbon is one of the most photogenic cities in Europe, with its soft light, historic streets, and beautiful viewpoints overlooking the river.

If you’re planning a visit, there are countless places where you can capture something special. Whether you’re travelling as a couple or exploring solo, choosing the right location can make all the difference.

As a Lisbon photographer, I’ve spent time exploring both the well-known landmarks and quieter corners of the city. Here are some of the best photo spots in Lisbon for natural, relaxed photography.

Spot 1 Alfama Streets

Alfama is one of the oldest and most atmospheric areas in Lisbon. With its narrow streets, textured walls, and soft golden light, it’s perfect for natural, candid photos.

Early morning or late afternoon works best here, when the light is softer and the streets are quieter.

Spot 2 Miradouros (Viewpoints)

Lisbon’s viewpoints offer some of the most iconic views in the city. Locations like Miradouro da Senhora do Monte or Santa Catarina are ideal for wide, scenic shots, especially at sunset.

These spots are perfect for couples looking for something relaxed and romantic.

Spot 3 Belém

Belém offers a different feel, with open space, historic architecture, and beautiful light coming off the river. It’s a great location for a calm and elegant photoshoot.

Early morning works particularly well here to avoid crowds.

Working Between Lisbon and the UK

In addition to my new work in Lisbon, I also run Manchester Photography, a well-established photography business in the UK.

Now based in Lisbon, I continue to work with clients in Manchester and London, returning for a few days each month for commercial photography projects.
